Overview of The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridan Resort & Spa

After the sophisticated, Palm Beach golden era, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is Disney's “flagship” resort and serves as one of the main hotels on property. The main hotel opened in June of 1988 and is one of the three resorts along the Resort Monorail Line. In October of 2013, the resort expanded and opened the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, apart of Disney Vacation Club. The resort's DVC-side offers a wide range of options for Members to choose from Deluxe Studios, 1 & 2-Bedroom Villas, and 3-Bedroom Grand Villas – each offering something for every travel size.

#10 – Great pools! Pool with grotto waterfall, pool bar, sandy beach, and MK view is very nice, zero entry, long water slide, kids splash pad area, and pool bar & grill (lobster sliders a bonus)! The courtyard pool is considered a quiet pool, but it’s really another main pool (just no slide)

The DVC site describes it as “Victorian elegance meets modern sophistication at this lavish Disney Resort hotel.”

Top 4 Reasons to Not to Book The Villas at the Grand Floridian:

#4- Elegance is not everyone’s cup of tea. People often say it feels too “stuffy” or formal like a “grandma resort” like they won’t fit in because they aren’t fancy enough/”I don’t dress up on vacation.”

#3 – Often Shares Buses with Polynesian – should have it’s own resort busses

#2 – Point Charts are high – When you hear us talk about stretch and splurge. Grand Floridian is 1000% splurge.

#1 – Availability is difficult, even for owners. It’s essential to own here during Fall and Christmastime.
