Vikki Wells and her husband Anthony were married in their home country in the United Kingdom and spent their honeymoon in Orlando.  The couple made some financial sacrifices to save money to come to Disney World on their honeymoon.  It was their first day ever on Disney property.  They were riding a bus to Magic Kingdom when they learned about an accident in New York City.   After being in the park for about 10 minutes, Vikki made it to the end of Main Street and was very quickly and efficiently evacuated on September 11, 2001.  Tune in hear her story of finding Disney magic after one of the most tragic starts possible and becoming DVC members who regularly visit Walt Disney World from the United Kingdom.

Vikki’s first day at any Disney Park was inside Magic Kingdom for 10 minutes before they were evacuated the morning of 9/11.  Vikki was impressed with how Disney handled the event.  She and her husband could not enter any parks for days after, and it was quite empty when they could finally get into a park.  Vikki and her husband were staying offsite at the time near Sea World.  Her honeymoon was three weeks, and she immediately wanted to return after getting home but wanted to stay on property.  She often checked Virgin Holidays and got an excellent deal for the All-Stars Resorts in 2004-2005.

In 2017, she finally bought DVC.  She had called DVC for information and felt it was too expensive, but then discovered resale.  She bought at Old Key West Resort resale.  Before closing on her first contract, she purchased 25 direct points to obtain the Blue Card Benefits three days before DVC raised the minimum points.  Add-on-i-tis hit, and Vikki then purchased a stripped Saratoga Springs Resort and Animal Kingdom Lodge contracts.

Her favorite resort is Old Key West.  She has also stayed at Saratoga Springs Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani and Jambo, Polynesian, and Boardwalk.  Eventually, she wants to stay at every DVC resort, but it is not necessarily her priority to stay in every room type.  Her family stays on-site nearly the entire time on their Walt Disney World vacations.

She loves the Mickey Pretzel with the warm cheese because they do not have anything like the fake plastic cheese in the United Kingdom.  Otherwise, she is very frugal on food during her trips.  Her husband is a master at cooking in studio rooms and utilizes three owner lockers to keep cooking supplies such as specialty tools to cook in the microwave.  With three lockers, they can bring just hand luggage to save money further.

She has been to Disneyland Paris only twice, even though it is closer.  Walt Disney World is about the whole experience, in her opinion.  As far as Vikki knows, there are no DVC discounts at Disneyland Paris.
