Chapek out as CEO, Iger to return for two years

In a shocking announcement on the evening of Sunday November 20th, Disney revealed that Bob Chapek would be stepping down as CEO effective immediately and Bob Iger will be returning for two years. The Disney Board of Directors had previously renewed Bob Chapek's contract for three years back in June.

The change is said to have blindsided Chapek and his closest allies with sources stating Disney’s board reached out to Iger on Friday to replace Chapek as CEO, without any other serious candidates in mind.
