Join us for a lively conversation with Jody from DVC Resale Market as we explore the latest in the DVC resale market. We discuss Disney’s Right of First Refusal (RoFer Monster) and how it’s affecting contract sales. The ROFR Monster has only shown up seven times this year, a stark contrast to previous years. Listen in as we theorize that Disney might be diverting funds to pay off their Hulu bill and suggest that now is an ideal time to buy with the RoFer Monster in hibernation. Jody shares her insight into the RoFer process, and we chat about how Disney’s decisions can sometimes be unpredictable. Episode 263

Like many, when I first started looking into DVC I had a LOT of questions. Thankfully, when I contacted DVC Resale Market. I was fortunate enough to have Jodi on the other end of the phone. Jodi was not only an expert on all things DVC, but she was also extremely patient with me and able to communicate the information in a way that made things much less confusing and intimidating. The best part of the overall experience though was that I NEVER felt pressured to buy or got that “hard close” feeling throughout the entire process, in fact, there were a few instances that she recommended that I not make a hasty decision and take the appropriate amount of time to think about it and be sure! Jodi is a consummate professional and I would feel comfortable recommending anyone interested in buying DVC on the resale side to call her… oh yeah, I will also absolutely be reaching out to her when it’s time to add on. Thank you to Jodi and the entire DVC Resale Market team for an amazing experience.
I have worked with Jodi, Derek, and Andy and all have been great. I heard Jodi on your show a few months back and then specifically contacted her to purchase a contract.
We have purchased 2 contracts through Jodi. She was extremely helpful and responsive!

Buyers are taking advantage of the soft market and buying with increased confidence that Disney will not exercise their right of first refusal (ROFR). We’ve seen a correction in market price spike during COVID when buyers had excess cash and pent-up demand to go on vacation. However, inventory has been significantly reduced over the last two months. Buyers are still buying, and the reduced prices motivate them to make offers and close deals on resale contracts.
Jodi Gross from DVC Resale Market joins the show to discuss our quarterly recap of resale prices, inventory, and the Right of First Refusal. While the overall market is slightly down from when it peaked in November 2021 to February 2022, month over month, the unweighted prices were up $8 across all the resorts. If the market is cooling down, it’s not by much as prices are relatively stable and steady. Episode 216
Jodi Gross from DVC Resale Market joins the show for our monthly recap show covering April 2022. We’ve started a slow shift towards a buyer’s market. Prices have started to soften and motivated sellers are starting to pay for closing costs. Disney bought back significantly fewer contracts in April than in previous months. Inventory dropped slightly from last month’s recording time. All of this has us keeping an eye on the market as we start to see a shift towards becoming a buyer’s market. Episode 204
Jodi Gross from DVC Resale Market joins us to discuss average prices, Disney’s Right of First Refusal (ROFR) buyback rates, an exceptionally high inventory, and a slight dip in Grand Floridian prices due to Disney selling new points from the Big Pine building conversion. Episode 195
Jodi Gross joins the show to discuss July 2021 average sales prices, inventory, and Disney buybacks of DVC contracts via their right of first refusal. The market’s inventory stayed relatively consistent – buyers and sellers were joining the market at an even pace. The price increases we saw earlier this year generally stayed the same, with a few resorts moving slightly. It’s hard to overlook the number of reduced contracts on the market when you scan over the listings. Jodi believes sellers may have been a bit ambitious in their asking price and have started to decrease prices. Old Key West and Saratoga dominated Disney’s buybacks. Copper Creek was also repurchased for the third consecutive month in a row.
