Welcome, Nich Anderson and Steve Peterson, two of our regular MyDVCPoints Mouse Quiz players. Both grew up as Disney fans even though going to the Disney parks wasn’t always an option. They have a friend who owns Disney Vacation Club and helped to nudge them towards a DVC purchase. They own DVC points at both Disney’s Grand Californian and Riviera Resort. Their first vacation Nich and Steve ever took together was to Walt Disney World. They attended a Disney Vacation Club presentation but weren’t ready to make their investment right away. Their friend who owns DVC continued to be a resource, and Nich and Steve finally bought DVC after learning about banking, borrowing, renting, and resale.
They used to stay often at Walt Disney World moderate resorts, but then splurged for Steve’s 50th birthday where they stayed at Disney’s Grand Californian on cash. That helped push them towards purchasing Disney Vacation Club, purchasing direct DVC points at Riviera. They got hit with add-on-itis and ended up getting a resale contract at Disney’s Grand Californian. Nich and Steve share preferences for Disney treats like churros and Dole whip out at Disneyland. They also love the attractions at Disneyland California Adventure, especially Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and Goofy’s Sky School. Because they own DVC at Grand Californian, it’s easy to love Disneyland California Adventure.
Since becoming Disney Vacation Club members, Nich and Steve have learned to slow down on their Disney vacations. They stopped being so concerned about doing every attraction because they know they were coming back with DVC. They have been taking their time doing tours of every Disney Vacation Club resort, which is inspiring some add-on-itis at places like the DVC villas at Grand Floridian.
Nich and Steve have also spent some time at Disneyland Paris, but can’t wait to get out to Disney Tokyo Sea. If they had unlimited DVC points, they may use their Disney Vacation Club magic to hit Disney Tokyo Sea. For Steve’s birthday, they tried to take on the Disneyland pathology challenge, and they managed to ride 48 out of 52 attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! Their pro tip is to ride attractions at Disneyland during the fireworks shows.
